Who we are
About
A brand new nonprofit theatre company in Fate, Texas.
Our mission
Fate Community Theatre is a brand new nonprofit theatre company in Fate, Texas, making live theatre with and for the people from Rockwall to Hunt County — on stage, backstage, and in the seats.
Fate Community Theater strives to give local actors, writers, musicians, artists,
directors, and theater lovers an opportunity to discover something new, build
confidence, and be a part of something bigger than themselves.
We are creating a space where families can enjoy affordable entertainment, where
local talent can shine, and where everyone has a chance to be involved on stage or
behind the scenes.
As a brand new 501(c)3 nonprofit, we’re beginning from the ground up. We have been
fortunate to receive incredible community interest and support from local volunteers and business owners. The City of Fate graciously agreed to sponsor us and has given us
access to city resources for free. Even with that support, there are still many expenses that come with getting a theater off the ground, such as sets, lighting and sound, costumes, props, insurance, and play/musical licensing, just to name a few.
That’s where we need your help. Every donation, no matter the size, will help us grow our programming, expand our possibilities, and hone our art while staying a community centric organization.
We are excited to build this theater together–and we hope you’ll be part of the story.
How a show gets made
How a show comes together
Every production is cast from open auditions. Nobody needs a résumé or a headshot to walk in and read, and every part is open. From there it is read-throughs, rehearsals, build days and tech week.
Where to find us
Out in the community
You will find us at markets, festivals and civic events around Rockwall and Hunt County, signing up volunteers and new members and talking about what is coming next.
We held our first auditions at The Hub at Fate Station. Our performances are at the Pavilion at Fate Station, the paved area by Sauce & Vine: free, outdoors, and bring your own chair or blanket.
There is a place here for you
Cast, crew, audience, or stage ghost. Every one of those is a way in.
